Lamu fine & antique is originated with the fine woods dhow wood which help in forestation.
We make any kind of furniture from the environment in which we found . We have experimental workshop that brought together Lamu carpenters and began to work with reclaimed hardwood from old dhow and fine wood such us Mvule, mango wood, mangrove wood, mahogany wood e.t.c. These kind of wood developed into making designs of tables, beds, doors, frames, sofas e.t.c. The demands of these products making brought us making orders and read from hotels and private houses.
We have our workshop in Lamu county is located in the Northern coast of Kenya and is one of the six coastal counties in Kenya
All works takes place in accordance with the ethical interest of the works and consideration for the environment. Lamu fine and antique furniture has local shop in shella village in Lamu county about 3.2 km south of Lamu town which offers both small object such as frames, mirror frames, chairs, coffee table, dinning set, round trays, rectangle trays.
Lamu fines & antique furniture promote working in an ethical and environmentally friendly way. In fact all of our materials come exclusively from Lamu local community region and all woods is reclaimed from abandoned and disused boats.
We see the export of these furniture of fine wood and old dhow wood as way of promoting the Lamu at large concept throughout the world and in the process creating many jobs opportunities within the local community.
